Summary: They were so preoccupied with the war they had to win, that they never stopped to think about what winning it could mean.
Notes: Because I haven't written something for this two in about forever. And the last handful of manga chapters really made me wonder. Comments and concrit welcome and very much appreciated.

My Opinion: I love BoA as a person and how she's both humble and hard working but I've never been a fan of her music. With the exception of a few cool songs, the majority of her Korean and Japanese songs haven't captured my attention. Then I heard this! This song, which was for the OST of the movie M (starring Kang Dongwan ♥), is unlike anything else BoA has done and the fact that it turned out so well says a lot about her versatile talent. She molded her voice perfectly to fit with the dark and eerie atmosphere of the music and the movie. Both fans and non-fans should check this out to hear a different side of BoA.

I don't have to see the Avatar movie to know it's racist. As evidenced by things like this really really white girl playing the part of a brown girl.
What I can't say for sure is if the movie is also going to be sexist. And remove Katara's characterization and arc. Because she has a vagina. And vaginas are good for only one thing. I can say, however, that I wouldn't be surprised at all.

The Beans v.13 comes out 7/28, and will contain part 2 of the novel "Unmei no Deau Yoru." (Part 1 was in The Beans v.12) It will also have an extra Yukino Sai fan book with lots of goodies, including a short novel after "Senichiya no Sono Ato ni (A story in the 4th gaiden)"
Saiunkoku manga will be in the September issue of Asuka, onsale 7/24, not Beans A. It will also have an extra booklet.

SMASH! (Sydney Manga and Anime Show) is a convention by fans for fans. We have a really strong focus on creativity with many cosplay and artist events, but we’re also working on including writers too. As such, we’d love to have as many writers as possible enter the competition.
For all who’d like to see their favourite character bizarrely transformed, some unusual romantic interests or that scene you’re sure is missing from canon…
SMASH! is running a fanfiction competition for those interested in taking a bit of creative license to canon (or possibly throwing it right out the window).
Entries will be judged by a panel of reputable fanfiction authors, chosen for their skills and knowledge of a broad range of fandoms.
To be in on the action, have a look at the fandom list (you’re sure to know at least one of them), and pick one of our prompts to use as broadly as you like to write your fanfic. The skies the limits for what you choose to write (any scene, any pairing), but all fanfics must be rated G or PG. The word length of fics is recommended to be between 1000 to 2000 words, but this is a recommendation, not a hard limit.
Unfortunately prizes will only be awarded to entrants from Australia or New Zealand, but others are welcome to enter and receive feedback from our judges.

I watched YYH Poltergeist Report movie and am struck with the sudden desire to write about Kurama and Kuronue making out. It's discontenting because I didn't really buy it. I can make it work in my head, but I think they twisted Kurama's characterization a bit too much for me to believe it (maybe in a few days I shall talk about why it threw me off balance). In the end, though the idea of Yoko Kurama having a soft spot for his boyfriend back in the day amuses me too much not to like it some.
Also man all the diverse opinions about the TW s3 almost makes me want to watch it.
In conclusion this picture (TW, I don't think it's spoilery) freaks me out.

One of the Brandywine tomato plants has died, unfortunately, just after it blossomed. I'm not sure why just yet; I know it got enough water down to the roots, and nothing ate it, nor did I see any insects that could've eaten it. That said, I have two others who have tomatoes on them that ought to be ripe before I leave in the first week of August.
The beans aren't doing too well, but the zucchini plant seems to be taking over that box where the tomatoes aren't growing, and the marigolds are doing well too.
The other box is doing much better, but I think that I just made that one better. Instead of trying to mix the soil all the way through, I added the compost and peat moss on the surface and planted the seeds on top of mounds, so all that richness doesn't have to filter up through clay. I hope the strawberry plants survive to produce next year. I don't expect anything from that box this year save for the occasional herb, but next year it should do really well.
The basil's still staying low instead of growing very far, the thyme (both the seeded one and the transplant) are spreading fairly well, and the mint is, of course, trying to take over the entire box instead of staying in its corner. I'm tempted to try to grow rosemary as well, since I use it for cooking so often, but I think it'll wait. I don't know if I'll be back next year or no -- depends on if I get a job in Ontario or not.
Today it's raining (with the occasional thunderstorm. I love thunderstorms, though the dog hates them), so I've spent a fairly lazy day beyond getting the res stuff sorted and paying off my car (no more nasty stuff hanging over my head! So delighted).
I have chicken that I should do something with, as well as leftover lasagna and lamb roast. There's broccoli in the crisper and pod peas that I should shell, though all I have for a starch are potatoes (hm, scalloped? Given the weather, I could almost do a fall supper). Decisions, decisions.
I'm still really proud of myself for getting the stuff in the prior entry done.
